Kopaszi gát által határolt, Lágymányosi öblöt körülvevő, egyedülálló természeti
adottságú, igényesen kialakított, Újbuda első, magántőke bevonásával
létrehozott és a nagyközönség számára megnyitott modern parkja jelenleg 10
hektárnyi területen várja a pihenésre, aktív kikapcsolódási illetve sportolási
lehetőségre vágyó látogatóit.

A TERÜLET TÖRTÉNETE
HISTORY OF THE AREA
A
Lágymányosi öböl története szervesen kapcsolódik a XI. kerület legfiatalabb
városrészének Lágymányosnak a történetéhez.
A
területet az 1838-as árvíz után kezdték átalakítani árvízvédelmi, a
folyószabályozást elősegítő céllal. Első változást a Gellért-hegytől délre
húzódó töltéspart megépítése okozta, amellyel kihasították a tölcsérszerűen
kiszélesedő Dunából a Lágymányosi tó öblét.
1870-ben
épült meg az ún. Kopaszi párhuzammű, amelynek az összekötő vasúti híd alatt
létesült medencéjét a kor követelményeinek megfelelő, az áruk ki és
berakodására alkalmas, vágányzattal is ellátott téli kikötővé kívántak
berendezni. Az újabb változtatást a területen az akkori nevén József Műegyetem
megépítése okozta, amikor is az egyetem környékén mintegy 72 000 m²-nyi
megfelelő területet a tó északi részéből töltötték fel.
Ugyancsak
a térség fejlődésének kedvezett, hogy 1937-re megépült három déli Duna híd,
ezáltal könnyebben megközelíthetővé téve a területet. A Boráros téri híd
megépítésével párhuzamosan 1930-ben megkezdték a Lágymányosi tó az összekötő
vasúti híd felé eső északi részének feltöltését.
A
feltöltéshez szükséges földet a Lágymányosi kikötő déli részének kotrásával
nyerték. A kotrás így kettős eredményű volt, hiszen feltöltötték a holt - Duna
ágat,ezzel hasznos építési területet nyertek, másrészt a tervezett téli kikötő
is használhatóvá vált. Az öbölben a kikötő funkció mellett, jelentős szerepet
kapott a sportolás is.
Előbb
Lágymányosi tóként, majd öbölként is a városrész kedvelt strandoló, úszó,
sporthorgász és evezős terepe volt az itt élőknek. Ez a szerep a II.
világháborút követően is fennmaradt, majd az 1950-es évektől a nagyszabású
beépítések során területe csökkent és az évtizedekig itt üzemelő vendéglátó,
sportolást és kikapcsolódást szolgáló létesítmények állapota folyamatosan
romlott.
Új lendületet akkor kapott a terület fejlesztése,
amikor 2003-ban a kerület Önkormányzata és a környékbeli telkek tulajdonosa
közös vállalkozást, az ÖBÖL XI. Kft.-t létrehozták, hogy végre gazdára és
funkcióra találjon a terület.

The story of Lágymányosi bay is closely
connected to the story of Lágymányos, the youngest part of the 11th district.
After the flood of 1838, authorities began to transform the area in accordance
with the flood protection regulations of the time. The first change was the
construction of the embankment shore at the southern foot of Gellért Hill,
which resulted in a separate, cone-shaped lake, called Lágymányos Lake.
In 1870, the so-called parallel bay works of Kopaszi were built. The bay that was built under the connecting railway bridge, was created as per the requirements of the those times, equipped with railways to suit both up- and offloading of goods as a winter harbor. The next change in the area was the building of József Műegyetem, as it was called at the time, (University of Technology), when they built-up a 72,000 hectare area around the university from the northern part of the lake.
It was also favorable for the
development of the area that by 1937, three southern Danube bridges were built,
hereby making the accessibility of the area easier. Simultaneously with the
construction works of the bridge at Boráros square in 1930, they started the
embankment of the northern part of Lágymányos Lake close to the railway bridge.
The soil needed for the embankment was
gained by the sweeping of the southern part of the harbor. Therefore, the
sweeping had double effects, since the backwater of the Danube was embanked, by
which useful building site was gained, and the planned winter harbor became
usable. In the bay, besides functioning as a harbor, sports gained an
important role as well.
First, as the lake of Lánymányos, and
later as a bay, it was a much desired recreational area for bathing, swimming,
sport fishing and rowing, used and visited by those who lived there This role
remained following the II World War, but then, from1950 on due to the large
build-sites and development activities, the area began to shrink, and the state
of all the recreation and leisure establishments that had been operating for
decades continuously declined.
The development of the area received a
new movement, when in 2003 the local government of the district and the owner
of the surrounding building sites, established a joint enterprise called Öböl
XI Ltd., so that the area could finally reach its highest and best use.

Nyárzáró kirándulás a Budapest Sketchers-rel. Találkozás 10 kor a Római Part 44. Multi SE Multi Kajak És Kenuklub-ban. Sárkányhajóval felevezünk a Lupa szigetre ott töltünk kb 1,5 órát -rajzolunk- majd visszaevezünk a Római partra. Lupa sziget egy, autóval megközelíthetetlen apró sziget Budapesttől északra kb. 5 km-re vízen. Egykor híres színészek, politikusok, orvosok, építészek tulajdonában lévő, gyönyörű platánfákkal szegélyezett sétány két oldalán helyezkednek el a kb 3 méter magas lábakon álló, részben Bauhaus stílusban épített kis nyaralók. Van egy BÜFÉ is a szigeten.
A sárkányhajózás költsége 1500 huf.
Az INDULÁSHOZ IDŐBEN KELL MEGJELENNI, és úszástudás szükséges!

Special trip in a dragon boat up to Lupa island north of Budapest. Lupa is a tiny -no cars- island with interesting Bauhause houses about 5 km out of the city. We will paddle up, then take about an hour to draw and paddle down to Római part. There is a BÜFE on the island. You should be able to swim, BE PUNCTUAL and happy to spend 1500 huf on this adventure. This is one of the secret places that you might never find without a befriending a local. : ) So why not come- ON time- and draw with us!

A Magyar Kancadíj a galoppversenyek legrégebben alapított díja. A verseny távja hagyományosan 2400 méter. Angol mintára, Gróf Széchenyi István kezdeményezésére írták ki, ahol is csak három éves, derby évjáratú kancák indulhatnak. A futam érdekessége, hogy a kancákat azonos súllyal terhelik, így csak a lovak képessége valamint a lovas ügyessége határozza meg az eredményt, melyen hároméves kancák versenyezhetnek.

Július 19.
Hiába, nyár van, és nyáron meleg van. Most sem volt ez másképp, és
ismét meg kellett birkóznunk az elemekkel, vagyis a 38 fokos hőséggel. Hajónk
hamar megérkezett a Boráros térre, és szerencsére nem volt rajta tömeg, így
mindenki le tudott ülni. (Tehát fölöslegesen cipeltem a kis kempingszékemet...)
Hálisten a víz közelsége és a Duna felett fújó szellő enyhet adott, és a hajón
sikerült némi árnyékot is elcsípnünk, így kibírható volt az időjárás.

It is summer, and when it is summer, the
weather is hot. It was the same today, and we had to cope with the elements, especially
the 38 degrees. Our ship soon arrived at Boráros square, where we got on and
luckily there was no crowd on it, so everyone could have a seat. (So I brought
my small camping chair with me unnecessarily...) Thank heaven the closeness of
water and the breeze above the Danube gave us some relief, and we could nick
some shade on the boat, so we were fine with the weather.
It is summer, and when it is summer, the
weather is hot. It was the same today, and we had to cope with the elements, especially
the 38 degrees. Our ship soon arrived at Boráros square, where we got on and
luckily there was no crowd on it, so everyone could have a seat. (So I brought
my small camping chair with me unnecessarily...) Thank heaven the closeness of
water and the breeze above the Danube gave us some relief, and we could nick
some shade on the boat, so we were fine with the weather.
And we hadn’t time for complaining about
the hot weather as we were just gawking around since there were so many things
to watch and to draw. It was hard to get used to it that the view was changing continuously
as the ship was waddle between the two shores. The first drawings were so
simple – anyway for my part – and it was hard to say that they came out right. They
were also hard to call sketches, rather the draft of the draft.
Some of us – after the first failures – preferred
the stable points on the ship, so they could make pictures about the travelers,
or about the ship itself, or the thing that was hanging above our heads from
the roof. At last we all got into it, and after a short time some church towers,
the lion of the Chain bridge or the Parliament could become recognizable. Those
themes were preferred that could be seen for 3-5 minutes from the same aspect
in a stop, or something that was showing the same view for a long time – as the
shore of Margaret Island.
We were sailing as far as the Roman Shore where
we got off and looked at each other’s creations and tried to find out what they
were representing. There was a drawing that even the owner couldn’t remember
what the model was for it… J Thereafter we looked for a restaurant with good
kitchen and everybody had something delicious according to taste: fish soup, shashlik
or other tasty meal. We had a great half-day again together. Let’s have the next
challenge! J

A hajóút vége a Római parton lesz és kb 2 óra.
Onnan a 34, 106 busszal lehet visszajutni a metróhoz az Árpádhidhoz.
Mivel valószínűleg sokan lesznek és kevés ülőhely lesz, esetleg hozhattok magatokkal kis kempingszéket, amennyiben ülve szeretnétek rajzolni.

The boat tour is about 2 hours to the last stop at
Római part. You might take bus no. 34, 106 to Árpád bridge and the Metro
st. to get back to the city...
Probably there will be crowd on the boat and there won't be so much seats, so it is suggested to bring small camping chairs with you if you want to draw while sitting.

Huh, nagyon meleg napot választottunk a mai rajzolásra, így csak a legelszántabbak jöttek el. Szerencsére volt enyhet adó árny is, ahol lehetett rajzolni, és volt egy kellemes csobogó, valamint egy kút is. A helyet felügyelő biztonsági őr igen közlékeny, és mindent elmesél a kíváncsi látogatóknak az emlékhely felújításáról, illetve saját szociális körülményeiről.
A sírhely fölött kialakított kilátópontról nagyszerű látvány nyílik a városra, a Parlament felé azonban a fák sajnos eltakarják a látványt. Ami engem megragadott, az a háztetők látszólagos összevisszasága a sok kéménnyel, és az hogy fölülről sokszor olyan helyekre is belátni, ahová egyébként nem, és bepillantást nyerhetünk néhány "titkos helyre", vagy mások egyébként gondosan eltakart életterébe.
A rajzoláshoz a mai nap csatlakozott hozzánk Zsuzsinál kajakozni tanuló Long is, aki Kínából származik, és 10 évesen rajzolt utoljára, ettől függetlenül lelkesen alkotott velünk együtt. A mókás az volt a sztoriban, hogy - mint kiderült - ő is ott volt a múlt heti Mátyás templomi kínai esküvőn... :) Valóban kicsi a világ...
A forróságtól bágyadtan örömmel tértünk be a Türbe után a közeli Margitutcakilenc nevű helyre, ahol felfrissülhettünk és még kiskutyákat is simogathattunk.
Rövid pihenőnk után némileg megfogyatkozott kis csapatunk levonult a Duna partra, ahol még javában zajlott a RedBull Air Race. Ott sem ültünk azonban tétlenül, bár a repülőgépek rajzolása némileg több gyakorlatot vagy gyorsabb felfogóképességet igényelt (volna) :)

Ah, we chose a very hot day for drawing today, so just the most stout came. Fortunately there was shade where we could draw, a nice fountain and a well too. The guard watching the place was very communicative, and if you ask he tells everything about the recovery of the tomb, as well as his own social circumstances.
There is a splendid sight from the viewpoint above the tomb, but unfortunately the trees cover the view of the Parliament. The most catchting for me was the apparent tangle of the rooftops and chimneys and the fact that from above we could see places what we usually can't and we can look inside some "secret places" or people's well-hided living place.
For our today's drawing joined Zsuzsa's apprentice in kayaking Long. He is from China and he was drawing when he was ten, but for all that he was drawing enthusiastically with us today. The funny part of the story was that he was also on the chinese wedding at Mathias Church last week. How really small the world is! :)
Wearily of the swelter we happily popped in Margiututcakilenc, the place nearby, where we could get some refreshments and we could stroke sweet puppies too.
After a short rest our decreased group proceeded to the bank of the Danube, where the Red Bull Air Race was still running. We didn't sit around doing nohing there, but drawing of the airplanes required more practice or faster comprehension :)

Június 27.
Nagyon jó kis társaság gyűlt össze a Mátyás templom előtt, és végig igazi családi piknikhangulat uralkodott :) Nagyjából 20-an voltunk, kicsik és nagyok egyaránt. A gyerekek fantáziájának semmi sem szabott határt, és első ízben csatlakozott hozzánk szintén egy nagy gyerek, Hugh. Abban a hihetetlen szerencsében is részesülhettünk, hogy láthattunk egy éppen házasuló kínai párt :)

A really great company got toghether in front of Matthias Church, and the event had a very pleasant family picnic mood :) There were roughly 20 persons drawing, small and grown-up too. Nothing set boundaries to the children's fantasy, and a big child, Hugh joined us for the first time also. Beyond these we had the incredible fortune, to see a chinese couple getting married :)
